Man kills his bride, daughter, few days to wedding ceremony in Edo

 

A-would-be-husband, identified as Wealth Nnamdi, has allegedly killed his pregnant bride, seven days to their wedding ceremony in Edo State.

The six years old daughter of the bride was also killed during the tragic incident occurred on Sunday, March 23, 2025 at Idiagbonya street in Ovbiogie community, along the Benin-Lagos expressway.

The deceased wife, identified as Osasu Aimienoho lsaac, and the suspect have dated for over three years, and scheduled their marriage for March 29, 2025.

The deceased six-year-old daughter was from a previous relationship she had with another man.

A source said Nnamdi was living with the deceased and her daughter in an apartment in the community, where she also carried out petty trading.

According to him, the incident occurred during a heated argument on Sunday, March 23, 2025.

He further stated that the suspect upon realizing that he had committed the crime, managed to escape from the scene of the incident to unknown destination.

“The odour that was emitting from the room attracted neighbours who then called the police.

“The police then forced the door open and took the pregnant woman and her daughter to the mortuary,” he said.

Spokesman of the State Police Command, Moses Yamu, who confirmed the incident, assured that the police would get to the root of the matter.
