Accord House of Reps Candidate, Afolabi, Vows to Sustain Late Aborode’s Legacy

The Accord Party Candidate for Ibarapa Central and North Federal Constituency, ahon. Afolabi Abiodun, has pledged to uphold the legacy of the late Dr. Fatai Aborode, by continuing his vision of using political participation to fight poverty, unemployment and underdevelopment across the Constituency.

Aborode, who contested the Ibarapa North Central Federal Constituency seat on the platform of the Accord Party in the 2015 general elections, left his comfort zone abroad and returned home with a vision to create jobs and contribute to the development of his community.

He was, however, gruesomely murdered in circumstances that cut short his political journey and development agenda.

Afolabi while speaking with NewsReporter on his aspiration, said he was stepping into a platform and vision that must not be abandoned.

“Dr. Fatai Aborode had a dream for Igangan and Ibarapa North Central. He left the comfort of abroad because he believed that our people deserved better. His vision was about creating opportunities, creating jobs and taking our community out of poverty and underdevelopment.”

“Today, I am stepping onto the same platform, the Accord Party, with the same commitment to community development and empowerment. I will not allow the dream of Fatai Aborode to die”, He added:

Afolabi said his ambition was not merely about winning an election, but about providing purposeful representation that would translate into tangible opportunities for the people.

“Igangan must be liberated from poverty, unemployment and neglect. We must build an economy where our young people can find opportunities and where our communities can compete favourably with their peers.”

He further called on the people of Ibarapa North Central to see the election as an opportunity to renew the development vision initiated by Aborode.

“The time has come to complete the work that Fatai Aborode started. His sacrifice must not be in vain. We will carry the torch forward and work together to give Igangan and Ibarapa North Central the representation they deserve.”
