Lafarge Africa Plc Officially Rebrands As HBM Nigeria Plc
Lafarge
Africa Plc has officially announced HBM Nigeria Plc as its new corporate
identity with a change in the identity and logo.
The significant
rebranding marked a milestone after years of the company’s company’s evolution
as one of Nigeria’s foremost building solutions providers both in Nigeria and
abroad.
Company’s Head
of Corporate Communications, Mrs. Ginika Frank-Durugbor, in a statrment, said
the transformation journey and strategic realignment was a result of the new
shareholder structure.
Frank-Durugbor
explained that the decision will further strengthen the company’s goal of combining
its strong local heritage with enhanced global industrial collaboration.
She assured
stakeholders that the transition would not affect its operations, workforce,
customers, shareholders, or its commitment to supporting Nigeria’s economic
growth and infrastructure development.
Speaking at
the unveiling, the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Lolu
Alade-Akinyemi, described the new identity as a symbol of the company’s
future-focused vision anchored on operational excellence, innovation,
sustainability, and long-term value creation.
According to
him, HBM Nigeria Plc represents an exciting phase in the company’s history
while maintaining its dedication to delivering quality cement, concrete,
aggregates, and innovative building solutions that support infrastructure
development, housing expansion, and industrialisation across the country.
He noted
that although the corporate identity is changing, the company’s core values of
excellence, sustainability, customer satisfaction, and responsible business
practices remain unchanged.
Alade-Akinyemi
explained that the transition would be implemented through a phased process
across the company’s nationwide operations.
He added
that employees, customers, shareholders, investors, host communities, and other
stakeholders should expect seamless business continuity, sustained investments,
and an even stronger commitment to creating long-term economic and social
value.
Also
speaking at the event, Chairman of HBM Nigeria Plc, Gbenga Oyebode, said the rebranding
was designed to position the company for enduring success while preserving the
principles and values that have shaped its legacy over the decades.
He expressed
appreciation to shareholders for their continued confidence, commended the
Board and Management for their leadership, and acknowledged the dedication of
employees in driving the company’s growth.
Oyebode said
the Board remains confident that HBM Nigeria Plc will continue to create sustainable
value for shareholders, strengthen stakeholder trust, and deliver on its
long-term strategic ambitions.
The Minister
of Works, David Umahi, also lauded the company for its contributions to
Nigeria’s infrastructure development through the delivery of landmark projects
across the country.
Highlighting
the company’s support for the Federal Government’s infrastructure agenda, Umahi
praised the quality and integrity of its operations and products, describing
them as critical to national development.
Among
dignitaries present at the unveiling were the Deputy Governor of Cross River
State, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey; a representative of the Lagos State Governor,
Olufemi Daramola; and the representative of the Ogun State Governor, Mr.
Tokunbo Talabi.
The event
also attracted traditional rulers from Cross River, Gombe and Ogun states,
government officials, former and current board members, members of the
company’s executive committee, captains of industry, and other stakeholders.
While the
corporate rebranding has taken effect, the company said the rollout of
operational integration measures, branding assets, and customer-facing
communications will continue progressively across all touchpoints to ensure
consistency, business continuity, and a seamless stakeholder experience.
