Panic Over Insecurity: Oba Ariwoola Hands 8 Bikes to Igangan Guards, Says No Community is Spared

The Asigangan of Iganganland, Oba Abdulrafiu Olaniyi Adeniyi Ariwoola (Aako II), has emphasized the need for strengthening security at the grassroots community level. 

The traditional ruler made this call while donating 8 motorcycles to the community-based security outfit, Igangan Security Guards.

Oba Ariwoola explained that the initiative was aimed at boosting the morale of the security personnel and enhancing their effectiveness in curbing insecurity in the community. 

He urged the security guards to be vigilant and committed to their duties.

The traditional ruler lamented the rising wave of insecurity in the country, saying it's alarming that no community is spared.

Asigangan, however, expressed optimism that with community-based security initiatives, the tide can be stemmed.

He called on stakeholders, including community leaders, businessmen, and philanthropists, to contribute to the security efforts in their locality. 

According to him, security is a collective responsibility that requires collaboration and cooperation.

Oba Ariwoola commended the efforts of the Igangan Security Guards for their dedication to duty, often putting their lives on the line to protect the community. 

He assured them of the palace's continued support.

The Asigangan of Iganganland also urged the security personnel to remain neutral and professional in their duties, avoiding actions that could compromise their integrity. 

The monarch warned against taking sides or engaging in partisan politics.

He emphasized the importance of intelligence gathering and community policing, saying it's key to effective security management. He encouraged residents to cooperate with the security guards, providing them with vital information.

The Chairman of Igangan Security Guards, Mr. Adewale Ogundele, expressed gratitude to Oba Ariwoola for the donation, saying it would boost their operations. 

He assured the community of their commitment to protecting lives and property.

The ceremony was attended by prominent community leaders, security officials, and residents, who all pledged their support for the security initiative. 

The event ended with a symbolic handing over of the motorcycles to the security guards.
