Olubadan Floats Community Guard, Gaari Ibadan To Address Food, Security Challenges

 

Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, has floated a community-based security outfit, “Ibadan Guards,” to address security challenges in the ancient city.

The initiative was launched alongside a food support programme, “Gaari Ibadan,” in a move aimed at strengthening security and improving socio-economic conditions in Ibadanland.

The ceremony was held at the Palace of Olubadan, Oke Aremo in Ibadan North Local Government Area of the state.

The Community Guard will be posted to all eleven Local Government Areas of Ibadanland.

The initiatives form part of the monarch’s broader efforts to promote sustainable development in the ancient city.

According to the committee overseeing the event, the Ibadan Guards will operate in collaboration with existing security agencies to tackle crime and enhance safety across the metropolis.
