Abioro Pens Heartfelt Tribute To Late Amosun

Tributes have continued to pour in for Alhaji Oyesiku Abdulsemiu Amosun, a respected Nigerian businessman and community leader who passed away on March 13, 2026, at 65. 

One of his adopted sons, Abioro Damilare Athande, remembers him fondly as a father figure, mentor, and benefactor.

Abioro, in a heartfelt condolence message, recalled Amosun's significant role in his personal and spiritual growth. 

"Your passing is a painful loss, not just to your family, but to everyone who benefited from your generosity and guidance," he said.

Amosun, younger brother to former Ogun State Governor Senator Ibikunle Amosun, was laid to rest on March 14, 2026, at his family residence in Ita-Iyalode, Owu, Abeokuta. A devoted Muslim, he was known for his tolerance, humility, and community service.

Athande, a Christian, praised Amosun for never discriminating against him, instead encouraging peaceful coexistence. 

"He allowed me to practice my faith while living under his roof, showing the kind of man he was – peaceful, accommodating, and large-hearted," he said.

Amosun and his wife, Remilekun Babalola, took Athande in during his secondary school days, providing care and mentorship that shaped his future. 

"I am who I am today because God used him as an instrument to help me," Athande said.

He affectionately referred to Amosun as "Big Daddy," a name many used to describe his kindness. "We love you, but God loves you more. Rest in the Lord Almighty until we meet again," he added.

Amosun served Ogun State in various capacities, including as Senior Special Assistant on Environment. His legacy of peace, family unity, and mentorship will live on through those he touched.

Abioro prays for Amosun's soul and strength for his family. 

"Myself and the family you left behind will miss you, Daddy. May God grant you eternal rest," he said.

Amosun is survived by his wife, children (Omowunmi, Omojola, Omorinla, and late son Omotayo), grandchildren, and extended family. Friends and associates remember his life as a testament to humility, tolerance, and selfless service.

The community continues to mourn, cherishing memories of a remarkable man.
