NANS Ogun Axis Commends Governor Dapo Abiodun on Unmatched Economic and Infrastructural Transformation
National Association of Nigerian Students, Ogun Axis, has commended Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State for the bold, visionary and people-centred leadership in the state.
According to the students association, the act has repositioned State as one of Nigeria’s fastest-growing sub national economies.
Chairman of the Association, Comrade Abiola Gabriel Francis (Solution), in a statement, described Abiodun leadership qualities as unprecedented.
He explained that the government in the past six years has clearly eclipsed all previous administrations in scale, speed and impact of development, setting new records across critical sectors of the state.
According to him, Ogun State under Abiodun’s leadership has recorded unprecedented economic growth driven by massive infrastructural investment, improved ease of doing business and strategic governance.
"Ogun has consolidated its position as Nigeria’s leading industrial hub, attracting both local and foreign direct investments, expanding its revenue base and creating thousands of jobs for young people. The state’s internally generated revenue has grown steadily, reflecting renewed investor confidence and a stable economic environment.
"Infrastructure development has been the strongest pillar of this administration.
"Governor Dapo Abiodun recently announced that approximately 1,500 kilometres of roads have been constructed across Ogun State in the last six years.
"These roads cut across urban and rural communities, opening up markets, reducing travel time, boosting commerce and improving access to education, healthcare and security.
"This scale of road construction remains unmatched in the state’s history.
"The establishment of the Gateway International Agro Cargo Airport stands as a defining achievement of the administration.
"The airport is designed to support agro export, logistics, tourism and industrial growth, positioning Ogun State as a strategic economic gateway for the Southwest and Nigeria at large.
"It is already creating direct and indirect employment opportunities while strengthening Ogun’s role in regional and global trade.
Speaking on the education sector, Solution as popularly known said "Governor Abiodun has demonstrated uncommon commitment to innovation and learning.
"The Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board has distributed electronic tablets to 1,910 public primary and junior secondary schools across the state to strengthen the Basic Education Management Information System.
"This intervention is improving data-driven planning, accountability and learning outcomes at the foundational level of education.
"Further strengthening digital education, the Governor has approved the construction of a ₦1 billion AI-powered digital classroom at Remo Secondary School.
"This project will expose students to cutting-edge technology, artificial intelligence and digital skills, preparing them for the future economy and positioning Ogun State as a leader in tech-driven education in Nigeria.
"The impact of this administration has been evenly felt across all senatorial districts of the state.
"In Ogun East, key road projects, educational upgrades and the Gateway International Agro Cargo Airport have transformed economic activity and connectivity.
"In Ogun Central, critical urban renewal projects, industrial infrastructure and road networks have boosted commerce and improved living standards.
"In Ogun West, long-neglected communities are now witnessing major road construction, educational investments and social infrastructure, integrating the zone fully into the state’s development agenda.
"The success of the Dapo Abiodun administration is also a reflection of the quality of leadership assembled to drive governance.
"The National Association of Nigerian Students commends the governor for surrounding himself with competent and forward-thinking professionals.
"We particularly acknowledge Mr Tokunbo Talabi, the Secretary to the State Government, for his coordination and administrative efficiency, and Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, for his reforms and innovations that are reshaping the education sector.
"The National Association of Nigerian Students, Ogun Axis, affirms that the achievements of Governor Dapo Abiodun in six years clearly surpass those of previous administrations combined. His leadership has delivered visible progress, measurable impact and renewed hope for students and young people across the state.
He, however, urged the Governor to sustain this momentum and assure him of our continued support for policies and programmes that advance development, education, students rights and youth empowerment.
