NAHCON Reduces 2026 Hajj Fare, Sets Payment Deadline For December 5

 

Intending Pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj exercise in Saudi Arabia are now to pay the sum of N7.6 million instead of over N8 million.

The figure is lesser than the initial N8,784,085 announced by the National Hajj commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) before the intervention of President Bola Tinubu who directed the commission to lowered the fare.

NAHCON Chairman, Professor Abdullahi Saleh, who announced the cheering news in Saudi Arabia, said the review means each pilgrim will now pay over N760,000 less compared to the previous year’s fare.

Saleh explained that the new rate was made possible following President Bola Tinubu’s directive to make the pilgrimage more affordable, as well as the commission’s recent negotiations with Saudi Arabian service providers.

“Pilgrims from Adamawa and Borno States will now pay N7.5 million instead of N8.3 million earlier announced

“Other Northern states will pay N7,669,769, compared to N8,457,685 previously announced while the new fare for pilgrims from southern states, has been reduced to N7,991,141 from N8,784,085, he stated.

The NAHCON Chairman, however, announced that December 5 has been set as the deadline for all intending pilgrims to complete their payments for the 2026 Hajj.
