"Fifth Columnists Behind Ijemo-Ibara Land Dispute" - Kufile

The land and boundary dispute between the Ijemoland in Egbaland and Ibara Community of Yewaland has finally been resolved.

The good development is expected to put an agelong crisis between the two neighbouring settlements.

Oluwo of Ijemoland and Aro of Egbaland, Chief Oluyinka Kufile, confirmed the development while speaking with newsmen on the sidelines of the 2025 Ibara Day in Abeokuta, the Ogun State Capital.

Kufile explained that the crisis was caused by the fifth columnists who instigated both the communities against each other.

The Aro of Egbaland added that people of Ijemo and their Ibara counterpart enjoyed a cordial relationship in the past.

According to him, the boundary dispute has been resolved amicably and they are now leaving together peacefully.

"The land and boundary dispute is now a thing of the past as the matter has been resolved amicably.

"We have been living together in peace in the past until some people sowed a seed of discord among us using the boundary as weapons to cause the disunity 

"But now that everything is now clear to each community, each community now knows where their boundary starts and ends 

"The beautiful thing now is that our shared relationship is now cordial more than before 

During the event, Chief Kufile also presented the award to several recipients.

Meanwhile, the Alake and Paramount ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, said Egbaland and Ibaraland have cordially relationships till date.

Oba Gbadebo while recalling that he was nine years old when his late father was taken him to the compound of the past Onibara.

Alake who referred to Onibara, Oba Jacob Olufemi Omolade, Lafa 11, as his senior at Baptist Boys High School Abeokuta.
