Death Toll From Ososa River Accident Hit Eight

The death toll from the accident involving a vehicle that pl;iunged into Ososa river in Ogun State has increased to eight.

This followed the recovery of additional four bodies from the River located along the Ijebu-Ode–Sagamu Expressway.

This is just as emergency responders said the body of the vehicle’s driver had yet to be found.

Spokesman of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), Commander Babatunde Akinbiyi, who gave the update to newsmen in abeokuta, the state capital, said TRACE operatives were alerted to a report that three lifeless bodies were seen floating at the spot on the river where the accident happened.

Akinbiyi explained that the emergency responders swiftly visited the scene and recovered the bodies.

“Four bodies, including three males and one female, were recovered at the scene of the Ososa River crash on Tuesday evening.

“The bodies were recovered and taken to the Ijebu-Ode General Hospital morgue.“The body of the vehicle driver has yet to be seen at the moment as search and rescue continues,” he said.

It will be recalled that tragedy incident had occurred during the early hours of Sunday when a vehicle plunged into the Ososa River, resulting in the deaths of four people.
