Olubadan-In-Council Begins Process To Install Ladoja As New Olubadan

The process of installing Oba Rashidi Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan has commenced with the 21 day mourning period in honour of the late Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin.

Members of the Olubadan-In-Council are expected to commence the traditional chieftaincy process at the end of the mourning period which began on Tuesday, July 8.

Sources said Oba Ladoja was not in town when the news of the late Olubadan was made public but the next olubadan is expected to return to the ancient town next week to facilitate the traditional process.

NEWSREPORTER gathered that in accordance with an age-long tradition of Ibadan land, the Balogun Olubadan, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola, who is the most senior on the Balogun line, will nominate the new Olubadan while his nomination will be seconded by Osi Olubadan, Oba Eddy Oyewole, during the meeting.

The meeting will be held at the new Olubadan palace located at Oke-Aremo, in the Ibadan North Local Government Area of the state.
