2027: Coalition Dumps ADA, Adopts ADC Platform ..........Appoints Mark, Aregbesola, Others as Interim Leaders
The 2027 Presidential race on Tuesday gained a momentum as
the opposition coalition adopted the African Democratic Congress (ADC), as its
political party platform for the 2027 general polls.
The coalition had approached the Independent National
Electoral Commission (INEC) to register All Democratic Alliance (ADA) as its
proposed new party for the 2027 polls after initial talks with ADC and Social
Democratic Party (SDP) had stalemated.
The development is a major step in the efforts of the opposition
political bigwigs to unseat President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All
Progressives Congress (APC).
The coalition also announced some of the interim leadership of
the party with former Senate President, David Mark, as national chairman while
the immediate past Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, as the national secretary.
Also, the coalition appointed the former Minister of Sports,
Bolaji Abdullahi, as spokesperson of the party.
The formal unveiling of the coalition and its leadership is
scheduled to hold on Wednesday.
