NNPP Chieftain, Sameul Sogbeinde, greets Resilient Nigerians on Democracy Day

Former Ogun State House of Assembly Candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) during the 2023 general polls, Honourable Samuel Ololade Sogbeinde, has commended the resilience of Nigerians in the face of challenges as the country marked its 26th year of democracy.

The Democracy Day, according to the NNPP Chieftain, marked a significant milestone in the history of Nigeria as a nation.

Sogbeinde, in a message addressed to Nigerians, described the day as a moment to reflect on the journey undertaken by Nigerians in a bid to uphold democratic values.

The politician explained that the remembrance of the significant day is to appreciate the progress the country have made and as to reaffirm our commitment to the principles of freedom, justice, and equality for all citizens.

“On this auspicious occasion of 2025 Democracy Day and 32 years anniversary of the famous struggles of the June 12th, 1993, we celebrate not just the establishment of democratic governance in our beloved country, but the enduring spirit of the Nigerian people, who have shown remarkable resilience, determination, and unity in the face of diverse challenges.

“As we commemorate this day, let us remember the sacrifices of those who fought tirelessly for the democracy we enjoy today, especially Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola GCFR, the winner of the June, 12, 1993 presidential poll.

“In the spirit of democracy, it is imperative that our leaders at all levels address the challenges we are facing as a nation, especially the unemployment, economic and security challenges, as well as ensuring good governance to deliver dividends of democracy to the poor masses.”

Sogbeinde, however, called for more participation of Nigerian youths in the political activities from ward level to the national level.
