Travellers, Motorists stranded as trained derailed at Orile Ilugun area in Ogun State

 

Several commuters and motorists are stranded as trained derailed on its tracks at orile Ilugun, near Odeda, along Abeokuta-Ibadan road.

The incident occurred during the early hours of Friday.

The train blocked the road at both end preventing vehicles coming from Abeokuta, the Ogun State Capital and those from Ibadan, the Oyo State Capital from going to their destinations.

Commuters spent several hours on the road despite the drivers parting with not less than N1,500 at the three points illegally set up by the youths in the village.

Pleas by the travellers and the drivers fell into deaf ears of the hoodlums who turn the incident to a brick businesses.

There appeared to be no end in sight for the travellers as there was no officials from the Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC), Security agencies and other responders as at the time of filing this report.
