Ogun Tech Community sets to host Communication Minister, Bosun Tijani, in Abeokuta

The Ogun Tech Community is set to host the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, in Abeokuta, the state capital.

The event which is scheduled for Thursday, May 8th, 2025,will also feature a high-level engagement with technology stakeholders, startup founders, and innovation leaders from across the State.

The venue for the event, tagged; “Ogun Tech Forward: Innovation & Startups Roundtable with the Honourable Minister,” is Mitros Residences Banquet Hall, Osoba Road, GRA, Abeokuta.

President of Ogun tech community, Durosinmi Adekunle, in a statement, said the engagement will take place between 12pm and 2pm.

Adekunle explained that the roundtable is designed as an interactive platform for the minister to engage directly with tech entrepreneurs, ecosystem builders and innovators, with a view to understanding the specific challenges and opportunities within the Ogun tech landscape.

The Tech expert added that the session is also expected to spotlight policy needs, infrastructure gaps, and capital access limitations faced by startups operating in the region.

According to him, the event will open with welcome remarks from a representative of the organising body, followed by a keynote address from Dr. Tijani. 

"The Minister’s speech, themed; “Unlocking Local Innovation for National Impact,”* is expected to outline the federal government’s current digital economy agenda and how local ecosystems such as Ogun can play a pivotal role.

Adekunle said the event will be rounded up with questions and answers while the media will be briefed on the outcome of the event and other related matters.
