Housewife stabs husband to death nine days after wedding in Kano
An 18-year-old housewife, identified as Saudat Jibril, is now in the police custody for allegedly killing her husband, Salisu Idris, in Kano State .
The tragic incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday at their residence located at Farawa Quarters, in the metropolis, is coming barely nine days after their wedding ceremony.
The suspect allegedly used a sharp knife to stab her husband in the throat.
Spokesman of the State Police Command, Abdullahi Kiyawa, who confirmed the incident to newsmen, said the suspect is now in custody and will face charges of culpable homicide.
Kiyawa explained that Idris was rushed to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital following the attack but was declared dead by medical personnel.
“Upon receiving the report, the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, swiftly deployed a team of detectives to the scene.
“The suspect has been apprehended and is currently in custody at the Command’s Criminal Investigation Department, CID, Homicide Section,” he said.
Kiyawa further stated that investigations are ongoing and that the suspect will be charged in court upon conclusion of preliminary inquiries.
