No Court sacks Abure as Labour Party National Chairman - Arabambi insists

The Leadership of Labour Party (LP) has clarified that the Supreme Court judgement does not sack its National Chairman, Julius Abure.

According to it, the decision of the apex court only stated that the lower court erred in dabbing into the internal party affairs.

Spokesman of the party, Abayomi Arabambi, who made the clarification in a terse statement, said Supreme Court strikes out Nenadi, Abure suits, says only Political Parties can can determine who their leaders are. 

Arabambi explained that the Supreme Court struck out the suit at the trial court and also that of the court of Appeal.

"The attention of the Labour Party leadership has been drawn to a fake news been peddled around and which we intercepted in various media outlets.

"What transpired in the court today is that the courts shouldn't dabble into the affairs of the political parties.  

"The Supreme Court said that  the trial court should not have made pronouncements on leadership of the party and that political parties should  abide their constitution. How does this remove Abure???

"The Party followed the constitution of the party in organising the party convention which produces Bar Julius Abure as National Chairman and ALh Farouk UMAR Ibrahim as National Secretary", he said

Arabambi, however, insisted that the National Leadership of the party known remained Bar Julius Abure as National Chairman and Alhaja Farouk UMAR Ibrahim as National Secretary
