Delta Gov, Oborevwori, dumps PDP for APC

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The development has finally put an end to the speculation about the future of the governor in the main opposition party.

Oborevwori, announced his defection at the end of a closed-door meeting at the Government House in Asaba on Wednesday.

The Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, who confirmed the decision said the decision was reached after “wide consultations with political stakeholders and in the interest of Delta’s long-term development.”

Oborevwori, who defected alongside his deputy, commissioners and other aides was received by senior APC officials in the state.

Recall that political analysts are already observed the ongoing strategic realignment with significant implications ahead of the 2027 general polls.
