Omolewu greets Christians on Lenten Season, seeks compassionate society for all

Former Chairman of Ibarapa North Local Government, Hon Tunji Omolewu, has called on Nigerians to strive for the creation of a more inclusive and compassionate society for all.

According to the politician, such a society will ensure that the burdens of the poor masses will be alleviated.

Omolewu, in a felicitation message on Lenten Season, asked the Christians to use the significance of the season on their spiritual faith and the society at large.

The former council chairman explained that the fasting period provides the timely opportunity for Christians to embark on repentance, spiritual evaluation and compassion to others as displayed by Jesus Christ.

Jabele as fondly called added that the period also allows all Nigerians to strive towards building a country where poor masses are adequately catered for.

"Let me warmly extend my greetings to all Christians as his year’s Lent reminded us of the essence of the period and what it holds for our society.”

"Let us join hands to support those enduring economic hardships in our midst and be compassionate like Jesus Christ in our daily lives. , ” he said.

“We must use this time of self-evaluation and sacrifice to contemplate the ways in which we can contribute to the well-being of others, as Christ, our Lord, will do with hearts drawn to the plight of many who struggle to make ends meet, facing financial uncertainty and limited access to basic needs.

“We long for a Nigeria where every individual is afforded the opportunity to thrive, and where our leaders prioritise the well-being of the most vulnerable in our environment, ” he added.

Omolewu urged Nigerians to continue praying for the leaders and the country for unity, progress and development.
