Ogun NUJ Condoles Minister 0f State for Health , Salako,0ver Mother’s Death
The Ogun State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ), has expressed heartfelt condolences with the Minister of State for Health, Dr. Iziaq Kunle Salako, over the passage of his mother.
The late Minister's mother, Alhaja Fadilat Anike Salako, died on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at the age of 95 years and she had since been buried in accordance with Islamic rites.
Union's Chairman, Wale Olanrewaju and the Secretary, Bunmi Adigun, in a statement jointly signed, described the loss as a significant one.
Olanrewaju explained that the Union acknowledges the life, legacy, influence, and guidance of the departed with utmost respect and admiration.
The NUJ Boss added that the late mother undoubtedly have greatly contributed to the admirable professional, leadership, and personal qualities exhibited by her children, especially the Minister of the Federal Republic.
According to him, the death of a loved one comes with sober feelings as it hurts so much, even if the departed is of ripe age.
"Our hearts, therefore, go out to Dr. Kunle Salako and the entire family during this difficult time, and we pray for strength and comfort as they navigate this profound loss.
"The Council commends the Minister for his dedication to healthcare and services to the nation, particularly during challenging times, emphasizing the reflection of roles played by his mother in shaping his life and contribution to the communities", he said
Olanrewaju said the Council expresses strong solidarity and offer unwavering support as the family mourns the loss of their beloved matriarch whose presence will be deeply missed, and her memory cherished forever, having lived an impactful life.
He further stated that the council prayed that Almighty Allah grant the soul of Mama to rest in eternal peace, and her family find solace in the cherished memories they hold dear.
