Mapoly Radio finally gets NBC approval for full transmission
Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, (MAPOLY) has finally received the long awaited approval for the full transmission of its campus radio broadcasting.
This is coming after the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) granted the campus based media outfit "MAPOLY Radio" which broadcast on 99.7 frequency.
Institution's Head of Public Relation Officer and Protocol, Yemi Ajibola, who announced the cheering news in a statement, said the polytechnic has finally secured its full operational license following the approval.
Ajibola explained that the approval was contained in a letter signed by the Secretary to the Commission, Mrs. Francisca Aiyetan, dated February 3, 2025 and addressed to the Rector, Arc. Dr. 'Koye Jolaoso.
He added that the development is an attestation to the rebranding agenda of the Management of the institution as a result of his efforts to resuscitate the MAPOLY Campus Radio Station.
According to the letter "I am directed to convey the approval of the National Broadcasting Commission to your request to commence full transmission on your Campus FM Radio Station, MAPOLY 99.7MHz, Abeokuta, Ogun State".
"This is based on the report of successful completion of Test Transmission by the Station in compliance with the provisions of the National Broadcasting Commission Act, Cap. N11, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 and the Nigeria Broadcasting Code".
Ajibola assured that the approval will further enhance Mass Communication training in the 46-year-old institution, thereby helping students to acquire practical skills to make them functional and competitive in the media industry.
