Man hacks mother, sister to death in Ekiti

A man, identified as Victor Lorjaal, is now the Police net for allegedly hacked his mother, Mrs. Victoria Lorjaal, to death in Ekiti State.

The suspect killed his mother alongside his elder sister, identified as Brenda Lorjaal, with a machete.

Spokesman of the State Police Command, Sunday Abutu, who confirmed the incident to newsmen in Ado Ekiti, said the suspect is already in custody undergoing interrogation.

Abutu explained that the tragic incident occurred when both the suspect and the victims were on their farmland located in Aba Ile camp area of the State.

“One of the children of the deceased, who is an eyewitness, narrated that while working with the suspect on the farm, he suddenly left him and went to meet their mother and sister at a distant location where they were also working,” Abutu said.

"The eyewitness reported hearing their mother scream for help, but by the time he arrived, the suspect had already attacked the victims and fled with the cutlass.

Abutu added that the Commissioner of Police, Joseph Eribo, has ordered a thorough investigation into the unfortunate incident.

“The suspect will be charged to court immediately after the completion of the investigation.”

The police have assured the public that justice would be served.
