In a condolence message personally signed by him, Afolabi described the death of Dr. Abegunde as a great and irreparable loss to Igangan community, Ibarapa, Oyo State and Nigeria at large.

He said the deceased was an illustrious son of Igangan whose contributions to the cultural and artistic heritage of the community would remain indelible.

According to him, Dr. Abegunde was widely known and respected for his exceptional craftsmanship and famous works of art, which earned him recognition within and beyond Igangan.

Afolabi said the late Kulodo would also be remembered for his deep love, commitment and passion for the development and progress of Igangan community and Oyo State.

He said, “The passing of Dr. Amos Ilori Abegunde, popularly known as Kulodo, is a great loss to Igangan, Ibarapa, Oyo State and Nigeria. He was an illustrious son whose remarkable contributions, especially in the area of arts and craftsmanship, will continue to speak for him.”

The Accord candidate further noted that the successive loss of prominent personalities within the Igangan community was particularly painful, coming shortly after the death of the revered Grand Chief Imam, Sheikh Abdul Azeez Fasasi Orimadegún.

He urged the family, traditional institution and entire Igangan community to take solace in the legacies left behind by the deceased.

Afolabi prayed to God Almighty to grant the family of the late Dr. Abegunde the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, while asking God to continue to uphold and strengthen the entire Igangan community during the period of mourning.

He also commiserated specially with the Asigangan of Iganganland, Oba Abdulrafiu Adeniyi Olaniyi Ariwoola, Aako II, over the death of one of the community's illustrious sons.

He prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of the late Dr. Amos Ilori Abegunde and for divine comfort for all those affected by his passing.
