Encomium Pours As Adebiyi Family Celebrate Matriarch at 80
The celebration, held on Sunday, September 13, 2026, provided an opportunity for members of the family to appreciate the octogenarian for her years of love, sacrifice, guidance and dedication to the upbringing and progress of her children and grandchildren.
Speaking at the event, members of the Adebiyi family described the celebrant as a source of strength, wisdom and unity, noting that her life had been characterised by values that have continued to influence successive generations of the family.
They expressed gratitude to God for granting her the privilege of attaining the milestone age of 80 in good spirits, while praying for continued strength, soundness and many more years of fulfilment.
The birthday celebration featured prayers, tributes, goodwill messages, family photographs and other activities to mark the special occasion.
The family members also used the occasion to celebrate the bonds of love and unity that the matriarch has helped nurture over the years.
As she clocks 80, the Adebiyi family wished her many more years of happiness, peace, good health and fulfilment, while pledging to sustain the values of love, unity and togetherness for which she has become a symbol within the family.
One of the Sons, Bolaji Johnson, while speaking with NewsReporter on the sideline of the event held at Saraki area of Adigbe in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, described his mother as good role model.
"My mother is a good example of a woman, wife and mother to all because she has proven that to us and everyone who has the opportunity of meeting with her
"My father had died several decades ago and she has remained steadfast in building and upholding the family till this moment, he said.
Another son, a Baptist Clergy, Revd Sesan Adebiyi, appreciated God for keeping his mother alive despite all odds she had faced in her journey.
"My mother celebrating 80th birthday is a testimony of God's unprecedented favour bestowed on our family for preserving her life to this moment, it can only be God.
The Celebrant Eldest son, Engineer Adebiyi, while thanking God for the milestone celebration, also expressed his gratitude to his siblings, family members and friends who gathered to celebrate his mother's birthday.
"I can't just thank my siblings enough for putting up this celebration in honour of our great Matriarch who has gone through the thick and thin of this life to raise us to become what we have become in life, also my deep appreciation goes to our family and friends who shared with us in this joyous moment
One of the granddaughters, Miss Bolu Adebiyi, described her grandma as a best friend and confidant who will continue to inspire her with great virtues she possessed.
Also, Micheal Adebiyi said "Grandma is always fun to be with, we can only pray to God to grant her more fruitful years to celebrate in sound health and mind.
