The Solution Foundation has marked its sixth edition of its empowerment with a grand finale programme aimed at supporting widows, youths and students through cash gifts, vocational training and equipment distribution.

The event, held in collaboration with the Welfare Department of The Gospel Faith Mission International (GOFAMINT), Pacesetters Assembly, Abeokuta, brought together beneficiaries from all Assembly under Grace District, for a day of empowerment and celebration.

Convener of the Foundation, Architect Ogunmuyiwa Oluyemi, popularly known as Solution, while speaking at the event, said the initiative was born out of his concern for the plight of widows and underprivileged youths.

According to him, witnessing the daily struggles of widows inspired the establishment of the foundation in 2021.

"There are many widows who are not being catered for. They only need a token to start a trade. Giving them cash gifts will go a long way in helping them become self-reliant instead of begging on the streets," he said.

Architect Ogunmuyiwa disclosed that beyond providing financial assistance, the Foundation plans to establish a 'Widow's Home' where beneficiaries can receive help in areas such as healthcare, financial support and general welfare.

He also charged young people to remain hardworking and committed to whatever they do, stressing that God blesses diligent hands.

"Whatever you decide to do, do it well. God will only prosper what you have and not an empty hand," he advised.

The event also coincided with the birthday celebration of the convener, during which widows, youths and students received cash gifts, clothing materials, certificates of completion for vocational training and sewing machines to enable them become financially independent.

Some beneficiaries described the initiative as timely and life-changing.

One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Oluyemisi Taiwo, expressed appreciation to the Foundation, saying the skills acquisition programme came at the right time and would help participants become self-reliant.

"I feel excited today because it came at the right time to empower our skills. I pray the initiative continues because it really helps people develop skills and become better persons," she said.

Another beneficiary, Miss Akingbola Idowu, noted that the programme had significantly improved her vocational skills.

In her remarks, one of the trainers, Mrs. Ogunmuyiwa Modupeoluwa Ruth, who is the wife of the convener, attributed the success of the programme to the passion of the Foundation's convener for transforming lives.

She urged youths to embrace vocational skills instead of relying solely on government for employment opportunities.

Also speaking, the Grace District Pastor of GOFAMINT, Pastor Taiwo Olaitan, commended the Solution foundation for launching the empowerment initiative at a time when many Nigerians are facing economic hardship.

He described the programme as a life-changing intervention and encouraged young people to take advantage of available opportunities to improve their livelihoods.

The Solution Foundation said it remains committed to empowering vulnerable members of society through skills acquisition, financial support and sustainable development initiatives aimed at reducing poverty and promoting self-reliance.
