Ogun ADC Youth Leader, Baiyewu, Warns Against ‘Division Tactics’, Backs Soluade Leadership

A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, in Ogun State, Comrade Kazeem Baiyewu, has called on party leaders across the 20 local governments to reject “division tactics” and rally behind the Otunba Olufemi Soluade-led State Working Committee.

The ADC Chieftain, who is the Youth Leader for Abeokuta South Local Government, said unity under the NWC-recognized leadership is the only way ADC can be competitive ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Baiyewu, in a statement he personally signed, urged the ward, youth, and women leaders in all 236 wards of the state to stop working with what he described as “unrecognized and self-acclaimed leadership” in the state.

“My appeal to all party leaders across Ogun State is simple: shun the division tactics being pushed by some elements in the party,” Baiyewu said.

“Everyone must align with the Otunba Olufemi Soluade-led State Working Committee, which has been duly recognized by the party’s national leadership.

That is the only structure with legitimacy.”

He argued that parallel structures and factional meetings were weakening the party at the grassroots and confusing members.

“If ward, youth and women leaders continue to work with unrecognized and self-acclaimed leadership, we are only handing our opponents an advantage,” he added.

“The ADC in Ogun cannot afford to be fighting itself when 2027 is already here.”

Baiyewu said the party’s immediate task should be mobilization, membership drive, and early preparations for elections, not internal battles.

“Once we are united under the recognized SWC, the ADC will be well positioned for victory ahead of the 2027 polls,” he stated.

“Our people are looking for an alternative, but that alternative must first be organized, disciplined, and united.”
