Adebutu Promises People's Friendly Policies, Ogun PDP Unveils Sowunmi-Kolapo As Deputy Governorship Candidate
The Governorship Candidate of Ogun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu, popularly known as Lado, has assured that his administration would focus on th needs of the masses.
According to him, priority would be given to job creation, industrial development, infrastructure renewal and improved welfare for residents.
Adebutu, who made this known during the official unveiling of his running mate, Lateefah Yemi Sowunmi-Kolapo, at the party’s secretariat in Abeokuta on Monday, said people of Ogun State deserve better treatment than what they are currently facing under the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun.
The PDP Governorship Candidate explained that he knew the needs and yearnings of the residents in the state, especially the poor masses who are mostly affected by the alleged APC maltreatment.
He added that his impacts and interventions, especially the procurement of electricity transformers can be seen in various communities across the 20 local governments areas in the state
According to him, the electorates in the state must vote out APC during the next governorship poll and vote for him and other PDP candidates in the state.
Speaking on his deputy, Adebutu described his running mate as a competent, experienced and dedicated professional who would further boost the PDP’s electoral prospects.
He said the ticket combines experience, vision and grassroots appeal capable of addressing the socio-economic challenges facing Ogun State.
Earlier, in her acceptance speech, Sowunmi-Kolapo thanked party leaders and members for the confidence reposed in her as the deputy Governorship Candidate of the party.
She explained that the nomination is a call to greater service while pledging her loyalty to the party towards securing victory during the 2027 polls.
“Our mission is to restore hope to the people of Ogun State. We are committed to building a government that listens to the people and responds to their needs,” she said.
She urged party members to intensify grassroots mobilisation and voter engagement, stressing that unity and hard work would be crucial to the PDP’s success in the election.
The highlight of the event was the unexpected appearance of the former APC Governorship aspirant, Prof Iyabo Obasanjo, who recently dumped the party.
She was given a robust welcome by the party leaders and members while she promised to speak during her forthcoming official acceptance ceremony.
