2027: Ogun ADC Stakeholders, Leaders Accuse Soluade Of Fund Diversion, Assault
Fresh political crisis is brewing in Ogun State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) following a petition by a bloc of party's leaders and stakeholders, asking the party’s national leadership to probe the State Chairman, Otunba Femi Soluade, over alleged financial misconduct, abuse of office, and assault.
The move, formalized in a June 20, 2026 petition, reopens a feud that appeared settled only four months ago when Soluade’s February suspension by the State Exco was lifted after high-level interventions.
The Petition signed by Hudu Idris, Ismaila Adejumon, Temitope Adebayo, and Rashidat Yekin, demanded accountability, transparency, justice, and discipline.
The petitioners requested for a full forensic audit of the Ogun chapter’s finances from December 2024, when Soluade became acting chairman.
According to them, the control of the party’s Sterling Bank account was centralized after other signatories were removed without proper approval.
They also claimed that aspirants seeking ADC tickets were directed to pay nomination fees into Soluade’s personal bank account rather than the official party account.
The aggrieved ADC stakeholders also alleged that Soluade assaulted his deputy, and that a female aspirant faced “harassment and molestation.”
The group said the allegations have “created divisions” and “weakened members’ confidence,” urged the National Chairman and NWC to set up an independent investigative panel.
Meanwhile, the embattled ADC Chairman, Otunba Femi Soluade, when contacted promised to get back to our reporter within 30 minutes which he failed to do as of filing this report.
