Tinubu reaffirms state police plans to tackle insecurity *Breaks fast with State Governors at Aso Villa *Assures Nigerians his promises will not be postponed

 

President Bola Tinubu has assured that his administration will not renege in its promise to establish the much anticipated state police to address the security challenges facing the country.

The President also vowed that all the promises he made to Nigerians before assuming office on May 29, 2023 will be fulfilled.

Tinubu, who gave the assurance while hosting state governors to an interfaith breaking of the fast at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, said the state policing remains a core promise of his administration.

The President reiterated that his administration is committed to decentralize the policing system in the country to strengthen internal security architecture.

He added that the establishment of state police is a strategy to tackle insecurity and his administration will proceed without delay.

“What I promised Nigerians will not be postponed. Security is the foundation of prosperity. Without it, farms cannot flourish, businesses cannot grow, and families cannot sleep in peace.

“We will establish state police to curb insecurity. This is not about politics; it is about practicality. It is about empowering states with the tools to protect their people while strengthening our national framework.

“We must be bold enough to reform what is not working. We must be united enough to protect what we hold dear

“Nigeria will be safer. Nigeria will be stronger. And together, we must commit to making it so.”

Tinubu asked the state governors to redouble their efforts to ensure that grassroots communities, where hope sometimes flickers, are not neglected.
