Abiodun Says Tinubu Approves Oil Drilling At Tongeji Island, Okays Olokola Deep Seaport

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the commencement of commercial oil drilling at Tongeji Island in Ipokia Local Government Area of Ogun State, paving the way for the state to join Nigeria’s oil-producing states.

Governor Dapo Abiodun who made this known, also announced the presidential approval for the immediate take-off of the Olokola Deep Seaport project in Ogun Waterside Local Government Area.

The governor added that the oil drilling at Tongeji Island will promote inclusion and economic empowerment in the coastal communities.

According to him, the Construction of the Olokola Port is expected to be far advanced between now and next year, following President Tinubu’s directive.
