Alaafin Commissions 33KVA Transformer Donated By Ajisafe Family

Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Abimbola Owoade, has commissioned the 33KVA Transformer donated by the Ajisafe Family to the Irepodun Community in Ojongbodu area of Oyoland.

The family in a rare gesture donated and energized the facility to address the electricity challenges facing the community.

Oba Owoade, while commissioning the Transformer, asked the other philanthropists in Oyoland to emulate such social community services.

The top traditional rulers urged the children of Late Alhaji Moshood Ajisafe Family to continue their Corporate Social Responsibilities in Oyoland.

"It is not surprising that it is Ajisafe family doing this, it has been a long time tradition of giving back to the society.

"let me also inform this gathering that the architectural design of the New Palace is being done by Architect Bayo Ajisafe, and the family has spent so much money on the work.

"The Ajisafe Children have been magnanimous to Alaafin, to Oyo community and the evidence is what the communities are benefitting now.

"The transformer and the project in its entirety is for Oyo and not to the beneficiary community.

"I want to implore the residents in the community to take the ownership of the transformer and ensure it's safety by reporting any suspicious movements around the facility.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Architect Abayomi Ajisafe, explained that the decision to donate the transformer to the community is part of the family legacy projects.

Ajisafe added that they inherited such generousity from their late father who during his lifetime lived a life of uplifting others.

According to him, the family is grateful for the privilege to address the challenge of power which has lasted for more than a decade in the community.

He thanked Alaafin for honouring the family with his presence for the commissioning of the project.

Ajisafe assured Oba Owoade of their continued commitment, loyalty and support for the peaceful reign of the Alaafin just like their late father did to the late Oba Adeyemi.

He commended his siblings for their cooperation towards the successful installation of the transformer while promising that the project will be extended to other part of Oyoland.

A minute silence was observed to honour their late parents.

The officials of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company commended the Ajisafe family for sustaining the vision of the project which was initiated by their late father.

Several residents in the Community who trooped out in their hundreds expressed their happiness to the Ajisafe family for such rare gift.

According to them, the donation of transformer is in continuation of intervention of Ajisafe family which has lifted several households in the community including distribution of food items, among others.

Community Leader, Moshood Olore, offered prayers for the family over the kind gesture to the community from time to time.
