12 Die In Kano Line Bus, Petroleum Tanker Collision In Kano State

No fewer than 12 persons including two drivers have lost their lives in a ghastly autocrash in Kano State.

Five others were also injured during the incident which occurred along the Kano–Gombe Road, near Darki town in Wudil Local Government Area of the state involving a Kano Line buses.

Director of Kano Line, Alhaji Sa’idu Abdullahi Shu’aibu, who confirmed the incident to newsmen, said the victims died on the spot.

Shu’aibu explained that the accident occurred when a tanker driver working on a road construction project allegedly made a sudden turn in the middle of the road.

He added that the Kano-bound bus, unable to avoid a collision, and in the process crashed into the tanker, resulting in multiple fatalities on the spot.

“Out of the 16 passengers on board, 12 reportedly died instantly, including two Kano Line drivers identified as Alhaji Sabo and Alhaji Dan Azumi.

According to him, the injured victims were rushed to a nearby hospital for the medical treatment while the dead victims had been released to their families for the burial rites.

He extended condolences to the families of the deceased and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.

“We are heartbroken by this unfortunate accident. Our prayers are with the victims’ families, and we extend our condolences to His Excellency, the Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, over this tragic loss,” Shu’aibu said.

He further prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased and called for improved road safety measures to prevent future occurrences.

The Managing Director said that authorities have since launched an investigation into the cause of the crash.
