Two Dead, Three Injure In Fatal Accident Along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway
No fewer than two persons have lost their lives in a fatal
autocrash along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun state.
Three others also sustained varying degrees of injuries during
the tragic incident which occurred along the Mountain Top University area of
the road, involving a commercial bus marked AGL 54 XU and an unregistered
truck.
Spokesman of Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement
Agency (TRACE), Commander Babatunde Akinbiyi, who confirmed the incident to
newsmen in Abeokuta, the state capital, said the victims died on the spot.
Akinbiyi attributed the cause of the accident to excessive
speeding and dangerous driving on the part of the commercial bus driver.
He explained that the driver while on top speed, lost the
control of the vehicle and in the process rammed into the moving truck from the
rear, thereby killing victims.
According to him, the bodies of dead victims had been
deposited in the morgue of the Ogun State University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu
while the injured victims were rushed to the nearby Hospital.
