Popular Radio Host, Olusegun Okedeji, Trains Teenagers
A Non Governmental Organization NGO TeenSpark Africa has organized the 2025 edition of Oyo 2025 "TeenSpark Africa" for the Teenage school children.
The event held on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at the Old Oyo National Park, Oyo Town had several participants, parents and stakeholders.
The Convener, Mr Olusegun Okedeji, in his welcome address, said the organization is to inspire, train and empower teenagers with essential life skills in communication, confidence building, leadership and career development.
Okedeji to who is a popular Radio Host on Dynasty 88.9 FM Oyo, added that the teenagers will be equipped to thrive and create positive changes in their communities.
According to him, TeenSpark Africa is a youth empowerment initiative dedicated to nurturing the voices, confidence and potential of African teenagers.
"We believe that every teen deserves the platform, skills and support to discover their true selves, stand tall and shine in their chosen careers.
"We have a vision of a generation of African teenagers who are bold, confident and purpose driven, speak up, standing out and shaping a brighter future for Africa"
Okedeji admonished the teenagers to take the advantage of the training oriented event for their advancement in life.
In her Keynote Address, First Lady of the Oyo West Local Government, Mrs Folasade Salam, asked the teenagers to believe in themselves as there is a bright future ahead of them.
Salami emphasized the essence of confidence which must be possessed by every child in order to face the future challenges.
The First Lady asked the participants not to entertain any form of fears, ensure adequate preparation, surround themselves with encouragers, celebrate mistakes and never afraid to start small.

"They were once young people just like you but they choose courage over silence.
"My dear young people, courage is not the absence of fear, courage is speaking even when you are afraid
"Everytime you choose courage over silence, you are rewriting your future
"So here is my challenge, before this seminar ends, make sure you speak up at least once. Ask a question, share an idea, stand to give your opinion, because when you speak, the world listens
"Your voice matter, Your ideas matter, You matter, So rise up, speak up and stand out" she concluded.
One of the guest speakers, Mrs Blessings Adejumobi, popularly known as Aunty B from Dynasty FM Oyo, encouraged the teenagers to make early preparation for their future careers.
Mrs Adejumobi asked them not to afraid of taking steps no matter how small and never be afraid of making mistake which is as a result of the steps they had taken.

"Understand the power of one step, clarify your dream, start small but start now, break your dreams into simple steps, overcome fear and self doubt, surround yourself with the right people,be consistent, stay connected with God, celebrate every small win and keep moving forward" she concluded.
Other speakers include Dr Augusta Molokwu who spoke on building confidence, and self discovery, goal setting for teen leaders, Mrs Akinnubi Olanike Esther (ATIBA), Career Discovery and pathways, Mrs Adebisi Emmanuela spoke on "the power of confidence: breaking free from fear and doubt ", effective communication skills and public speaking mastery by the Convener, Mr Olusegun Okedeji.
