Ibarapa North LG Vice Chairman, Bisi Akande, Commiserates Ibarapa Kan Over Father's Death

 

The Vice Chairman of Ibarapa North Local Government, Hon. Bisi Akande, has mourned the passing of the Asiwaju of Igboora, Dr. Amos Adepoju, the father of House of Representatives member, representing Ibarapa North and Central Federal Constituency, Hon (Dr) Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, popularly known as Ibarapa Kan.

According to the family, the former National Commissioner for Interior, community leader and human capital developer, died during the early hours of Thursday, August 28th, 2025, at the age of 80 years.

Akande, in a statement he personally signed, described the passing of the highly revered member of the defunct Igboora Literary and Progressive Union, as a big loss to the entire Igboora community, Oyo state and Nigeria as a whole.

Political Head of Ibarapa North West Local Council Development Area (LCDA) explained that late Pa Adepoju during his lifetime made remarkable contributions to the development of Igboora community right from his youthful age.

He added that the former Rector of the Polytechnic, Ibadan, portrayed himself as an exemplary leader with unwavering commitment to the family and community.

According to him, the passing of the experienced politician and leader had created a profound void which will take time to be filled.

“I sincerely offers my deepest condolence and sympathies to the bereaved family of our revered leader and the father of my leader, the House of Representatives member, representing Ibarapa North and Central Federal Constituency, Hon (Dr) Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, popularly known as Ibarapa Kan, over the passing of his beloved father

 “Words will fail me if I should start describing the astute community leader whose love, commitment and loyalty to Igboora Community, Oyo State and Nigeria at large until his last breath cannot be overemphasized.

“His unwavering commitment and remarkable contributions to everyone who had the opportunity to know or meet with him will forever be cherished and held in high esteem.” he stated.

Akande, however, prayed that God will grant the entire family and the party the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss
