Ogun Police Alerts Residents Ahead Of '777' Anniversary Celebration

 

The Ogun State Police Command has alerted the public, especially young persons, on the alleged planned cult-related celebrations popularly called “777” across the State.

According to the command, intelligence reports had shown that some suspected cult group are planning to launch attacks on that day.

Spokesperson of the command, Omolola Odutola, in a statement, said the Command has reinforced security operations across all Divisions and Area Commands to ensure peace and public safety.

Odutola warned that any attempt to stage unlawful gatherings, processions, or anniversary events linked to cultism will be met with swift and decisive police action.

She added that the young people are strongly urged to avoid loitering or forming clusters in public places because security operatives will not hesitate to disperse gatherings that raise suspicion or threaten public peace.

According to her, parents and guardians are advised to caution their wards.

Odutola said the Command further warns that anyone found in possession of firearms will be prosecuted.
