2025 PUBLIC SERVICE WEEK: GOVT REITERATES COMMITMENT TO WORKERS WELFARE
Ogun State Government has reiterated its commitment to the welfare of public servants in the state, saying healthy and happy workers make productive workers.
This disclosure was made by the State's Deputy Governor Engr Noimot Salako-Oyedele in her address at the Governor's office Secretariat Mosque Oke Mosan, during the Jumat prayers to commemorate the 2025 public service week in state.
Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, Governor Abiodun noted that The Prince Dapo Abiodun government has had six years of unprecedented support from public servants saying without them, this administration wouldn't have been able to deliver on its mandate to the people of Ogun State.
According to her 'Our building our future agenda have been delivered with your support, insight, goodwill, day to day perseverance and dedication to building the state'.
"I want to thank you for your prayers and support for us and I can assure you that we will continue to do our best for Ogun State public service, so that the legacy we would leave behind would be a legacy of a committed government to the integrity of Ogun State civil service and to the welfare of Ogun State civil service so that going forward ours will be a reference point on how to make things work in the state and how to make the state preferred civil service and the best in the country"
While saying the public service week was an opportunity for workers in the state who are striving assiduously together with Government to make Ogun State what it is, thanked them for their service to the state, saying there was no Ogun State Government without Ogun State public servant, reaffirming that their support to the present administration since its inception in 2019 have been invaluable.
Also speaking the State Head of Service, Mr Kehinde Onasanya, congratulated the workforce, especially the muslim community for their peaceful coexistence with their colleagues of other religion, saying the essence of the public service week was to take stock of past activities and fashion the way forward.
He urged the state workers to continue to work hand in hand with government, stressing that as the engine room of the government a lot is expected of them.
He then appreciated the state government for prioritising workers welfare through various intervention such as prompt payment of salary, allowances, leave bonus, pensions, two days break for workers, employment of more workforce to reduce workload amongst others.
Hon. Justice Basirat Adebowale, in her remarks, congratulated civil servants on the occasion of the civil service week, charging them to follow the tenets of Islam, be dedicated to duty and work diligently towards improving the service in general
Earlier in his welcome address, the Permanent Secretary, Ogun State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Alhaja Mariam Oloko, urged civil servants to remain committed, work with sincerity of purpose and diligence, praying that Almighty Allah spare their lives to witness next year civil service week.
