Three dead, Six Injured in Accident along Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway

A total of three persons have lost their lives in a multiple-vehicle crash along the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway in Ogun State.

Six others, according to the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), also sustained injuries during the incident which occurred at tollgate axis of Sango Ota.

Commander of TRACE, Mr Adekunle Ajibade, who confirmed the incident to newsmen said the victims died on the spot.

Ajibade explained that a total of five vehicles were involved in the accident allegedly caused by an unregistered truck loaded with cement.

The TRACE Commander added that the truck suffered brake failure while heading towards the tollgate from Sango Ota.

According to him, the bodies of the dead victims had been deposited in the morgue of the Ifo General Hospital while the injured victims are also receiving treatment in the same hospital.

”Motorists should always ensure that their vehicles are in good condition before putting them on the road.

”Drivers should also stop excessive speed and reckless driving to prevent unnecessary loss of lives,” Ajibade said.
