PDP Governor, Eno, disowns party, drums support for Tinubu's re-election in 2027
Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has publicly announced his support for the re-election bid of President Bola Tinubu ahead of 2027 Presidential poll.
The governor who was elected on the platform of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has disregarded his party to back Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to complete his two terms of eight years in office.
Eno, who made the pledge during the flag-off of the Akwa Ibom section of the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway project, said he is with President Tinubu.
He explained that his decision followed the magnanimity of Tinubu to relate with State Governors across party lines.
According to him, such act demonstrate the president commitment to the unity, progress and development of the country regardless of party affiliations.
“Let me end by assuring that our president (Tinubu), our people-loving president, who will complete 8 years because we are going to stand by him, my leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will not allow Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway to turn to another East-West Road. He is a father and a promise keeper.”
Eno also prayed for President Tinubu by asking God to give him a good health to complete the work that he has started.
The governor added that he will continue to cooperate with the Tinubu’s administration to achieve more.
Recall PDP Governors had on Monday declined the growing call for a coalition to defeat Tinubu and the APC at the center in 2027.
