Idiroko NAGAFF commends Customs Controller, Shaibu, pledges more collaboration
Members of the Idiroko Chapter of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) have commended the Customs Area Controller for Customs Area 1 Command in Ogun State, Mohammed Shaibu for his ongoing result-oriented fight against smuggling activities around the border.
The Controller, according to the Certified Freight Forwarders, has proved himself as an exceptional Customs echelon with great potentials.
Vice Chairman of the Association, Comrade Akinbola hammed rotham to, in a statement, described Controller Shaibu as a throughbred officer with impeccable character.
Comrade Akinbola Hammed Rotham explained that the association is well pleased with the ability of the Controller to sustain the policies and activities of the command which has made the anti smuggling crusade seemless.
The Vice Chairman added that the Freight Forwarders as one of the potential stakeholders in the sector will continue to support the customs and the controller in order to achieve his mandate.
“We members of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), Idiroko Border Chapter wish to specially commend Controller Mohammad Shaibu, Ogun Customs Area Command 1 Controller for his most brilliant job he and his team are doing in the border and in Ogun State as a whole.
“We are proud to be associated with you and the laudable achievements recorded under your watch which had shown you as an exceptional Customs Comtroller with great potentials. We are proud to have such a distinguished cerebral Comptroller at idiroko.
“You have demonstrated your zeal with the sustained and result-oriented fight against smuggling activities around the border and the entire state.
"These laudable achievements are too glaring for word and your dedication has sent a strong and dread message to the Smugglers of prohibited items in the State.
"The technology driven approach and strategic deployment of proactive enforcement officers who work round the clock to ensure that the economic saboteurs are considerably discouraged from carrying out their illicit trade are highly commendable", he said.
Comrade Akinbola Hammed Rotham, however, called for more collaboration between the Customs and the freight forwarders for better trade facilitation strategy without compromising the operations of the trading community or freight forwarding sector.
“We also commend his management team and indeed all Customs Officers while we pledge our continued partnership, support and cooperation,” he concluded.
