Ibarapakan Attends 2025 Ibarapa Cultural Talent Show in Grand Style

A member representing Ibarapa Central and North Federal Constituency, Hon. (Dr.) Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has joined constituents in Ibarapa Land in celebrating the 2025 Ibarapa Cultural Talent Show.

The epoch-making event held on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at the College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora auditorium, had in attendance dignitaries from across Yoruba Land and beyond.

Adepoju, while speaking at the event in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Hassan Adesodi Olaoniye, praised the creativity and act of ingenuity displayed by the convener of the initiative, Mrs. Bola Akinteye.

The national l lawmaker, who is the initiator of the Ibarapa Cultural Talent Show, has truly demonstrated that ideas rule the world and have indeed shaped human history, driven innovation and influenced cultures.

He commended Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State for promoting the cultural heritage of the Yoruba race, which he said had inspired people like Mrs Akinteye to conceptualise the Ibarapa Cultural Talent Show aimed at uniting, educating and preserving Yoruba customs and traditions.

Among the highlights of the Cultural Talent Show was the display of Yoruba and African cuisines, such as Egbo, Amala, Yaayi, Sapala, Otili, Mosa, Ojojo, and traditional drinks like Oguro (undiluted palm wine) served in its best local style.

The event also featured drama, traditional dance and Esa chant, primarily to familiarise the cohort of people born in the late 1990s and early 2010s, otherwise known as Gen Z, for the sake of preserving the Yoruba way of life.

Appreciating the efforts of the organisers, the lawmaker made a financial pledge apart from his support for the initiative when it was first introduced to him. He also rewarded a teenager who piqued his interest with her dance skills on the podium.

The Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Character, however, prayed for the progress of Ibarapa, Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole, saying that he would always be there for the people of his constituency.
