Hajj 2025: Abiodun Appoints Apelogun as Amirul Hajj, Other Welfare Committee Members

Ogun State Government has appointed the National President of the Amalgamated Commercial Tricycle and Motorcycle Owners, Repairs and Riders Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN), Prince Adebayo Apelogun, as Amirul Hajj for this year's exercise in Saudi Arabia.

Apelogun, according to the Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Board, will lead other 13 members of the welfare board ad-hoc committee to facilitate this year's pilgrimage to the Holy Land from the state.

Special Adviser to Governor on Information and Strategy, Kayode Akinmade, in a statement, said the appointment was approved by Governor Dapo Abiodun.

Akinmade explained that while Apelogun is the Amirul Hajj, Shaekh Ishaq Olorungbebe will serve as the chairman of the committee.

He listed the members of the committee to include Sheik Lawal Iskeel (Sugar), Sheikh Shile Rufai, Imam Sabeeq Aladi Ibrahim, Sheik Wasiu Raheem Balogun, Imam Abdul-Lateef Ismail Afolabi, TPL. Ogunfowora Kamoru Olayiwola, Alhaji (Imam) Hassan Tijani, Alhaji Hussein Oredipe Mustapha and Alhaji (Imam) Uthman Akewukanwo.

Others are: Alhaja Alatise Korede Fausat, Alhaja Egunjobi Kafilat Aderonke and Alhaja Jinadu Zainab Iyabode.

According to him, the committee are being charged by the board to discharge their obligations diligently with high level of commitment so as to ensure comfort and safety of pilgrims from Ogun State.
