Don't lose sleep over our visit to Buhari since we're political irrelevant - El-Rufai taunts APC, Presidency

Former Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaudna State has taunted the presidency and the All Progressives Congress (APC) over the recent visit to former President, Muhammadu Buhari.

El-rufai alongside former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, former governors of Sokoto, Imo and Benue States, Aminu Tambuwal, Achike Udenwa and Gabriel Suswam respectively met with Buhari at his Kaduna residence on Friday.

Members of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, have been making comments on the visit, linking it to the 2027 presidential election

However, El-Rufai in a post on his X handle clarified that they “were in Kaduna for Post-Sallah courtesies to former President Muhammadu Buhari”.

The Former Governor explained that the visit was not politically motivated as being speculated in some quarters.

Responding to some comments from the APC bigwigs, the former governor said “our adversaries should not lose any sleep. It is not about politics”.

“We joined the faithful for Jumaat prayers at the Yahaya Road Mosque and had a sumptuous lunch at the Buhari Residence”.

El-Rufai revealed that the visit “is about unity and brotherhood. And since we are all politically irrelevant, we just prayed and enjoyed lunch with our mentor”.
