Three to die by hanging for murder in Kwara



Three artisans are to die by hanging for themurder of a fellow artisan, identified as Saheed Lawal in Kwara State

he convicts, Isiaka Jimoh, Lekan Ahmed, and Adebayo Saheed, were mechanics in Amuyo area of Offa Community in Offa Local Government Area of the State.

State Director of Public Prosecutions, Ayoola Akande, had told the Court that the killing, occurred on November 5, 2020 at a mechanic workshop near Government Day Secondary School in Amuyo, Offa.

Akande added that the convicts after they had conspired to commit culpable homicide, also poured hot red pepper into the ears of another artisan, Hamzat Ibrahim, at the same workshop in Offa.

The prosecutor explained that Lawal, a motor mechanic was accused by Jimoh and Ahmed of stealing motor oil.

According to him, They, along with Saheed (also known as Eje), tortured Lawal until he lost consciousness and he was rushed to the State General Hospital, Offa, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival by the medical doctor on duty.

Justice Adebayo Yusuf, in his judgement, said the prosecutor had proved his case beyond any reasonable doubt, thereby sentenced the convicts to death by hanging .

Justice Yusuf stated that they are to die by hanging until they take their last breath.
