One dies in trucks collision in Abeokuta
One person has lost his life in a fatal auocrash in Abeokuta, the state capital.
Three others were also injured during the accident which occurred along Abeokuta-Sagamu Expressway, involving two unregistered trucks near the SWAT Office, opposite Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, (OOPL) area of the metropolis.
Spokesperson of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Ogun Sector Command, Florence Okpe, who confirmed the incident to NEWSREPORTER, said the victim died on the spot.
Okpe attributed the causes of the accident to brake failure.
She explained that the driver of the I'll fated truck while on top speed, loss the control of the truck and in the process had a head-on-collision with another truck.
The FRSC image maker added that five other passengers were rescued unhurt from the accident.
According to her the injured victims were rushed to the State Hospital, Ijaiye, Abeokuta while the body of the dead victim had been deposited in the morgue of the same hospital.
The State Sector Commander, Akinwumi Fasakin, expressed his condolences with the family of the deceased while advising the motorists to ensure daily vehicle checks on their vehicles on daily basis.
