Hotel Supervisor found dead in Abeokuta
Ogun State Police Command said it has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a Hotel Supervisor in Abeokuta, the Ogun State Capital.
The victim, identified as Mr Adedokun Oluyemi, was the supervisor of Solution One Hotel, located in the Ago Oko area of the metropolis.
According to the Police, Oluyemi’s unconscious body was discovered in his hotel room on Saturday morning.
Spokesperson of the state police command, Omolola Odutola, who confirmed the incident to newsmen, said the lifeless body of the victim was discovered a bar assistant at the hotel, identified as Taiyelolu.
Odutola added that the bar assistant raised an alarm after she found Oluyemi unresponsive after multiple attempts to reach him.
She added that concerned by the lack of response, the matter was reported at the Oke Itoku division.
According to the spokesperson, the Police team deployed to the scene of the incident reported that there were no visible signs of violence on the deceased’s body.
“The report was made by a bar attendant, Taiyelolu, who, upon finding the door locked and after several unsuccessful attempts to gain entry, forced the door open and discovered Mr Oluyemi lying lifeless on the bed.
“Police emergency services, through the divisional police officer, were immediately dispatched to the scene, and Mr Oluyemi was transported to the State Hospital, Ijaye, Abeokuta.
“There was no mark of violence on his body when the team of first responders arrived at the hotel.”
“The body has since been deposited at the State Hospital mortuary for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
Odutola, however, said the State Criminal Investigation Department would take over the case to conduct a thorough review of the preliminary findings.
She also extended the command’s condolences to the colleagues and family of the deceased while advising for medical insurance and checkups for staff.
