10,898 Secondary schools to benefit Ibarapa Kan instructional materials distribution
No fewer than 10,898 Students from the public secondary schools are to benefit from the distribution of instructional materials from House of Representative member, representing Ibarapa North and Central Federal Constituency, Hon (Dr) Anthony Adebayo Adepoju.
According to the national lawmaker popularly known as Ibarapa Kan, the students were drawn from the 21 public secondary schools in the Constituency.
Adepoju, who announced the cheering news during the foundation-laying ceremony of a state-of-the-art public library in Igboora, Ibarapa Central Local Government Area of Oyo State, said the gesture will also be extended to the teachers in the public schools in the Constituency.
The politician explained that the foundation-laying exercise of the first public constituency library was the bold decision was made to motivate teenagers in the constituency and to demonstrate his commitment to child education.
He added that the distribution of the educational materials will be based on the headcount of students conducted across the federal constituency between Tuesday, March 18, and Wednesday, March 19, 2025.
The breakdown of the headcount, according to him, showed that in Ayete, 1,056 students were counted in all the three public secondary schools in the community while in Tapa, 1,153 students were counted in all the two public secondary schools in the community; while in Igangan, 1,654 students were counted in all the four public secondary schools in the community, culminating in a total of 3,863 students in Ibarapa North.
He further revealed that for Ibarapa Central, a total of 5,350 students were collated in all the nine public secondary schools in Igboora while in Idere, 1,685 students were counted in the three public secondary schools in the community, totalling 7,035 students in Ibarapa Central.
According to the calculations, 10,898 pupils will benefit from the instructional materials in the federal constituency, in addition to the twenty instructional materials that we will give to teachers from these 21 schools.
Adepoju, represented by the Executive Vice Chairman and Political Head of Ibarapa North/West Local Council Development Area, Igangan (LCDA), described the development as a turning point in the constituency’s path towards advancement, growth and a better future.
He, however, attributed the success of his administration to God Almighty, the brilliant contribution of his beloved wife, as well as the supports of his constituents in Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Adepoju specially appreciated Governor Seyi Makinde who he described as leader and mentor, for his leadership which has endeared him to the people in the state.
The turning of the sod was carried out by Hon. (Miss) Peace Oluwaseyi Oladosu, the first One-Day House of Representatives member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, in the presence of traditional rulers, community leaders and significant stakeholders in the educational sector.
The event was attended by Dignitaries including the political leaders, traditional rulers, teachers and students, as well as other stakeholders from Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency.
