VLBC Lead Pastor, Achudume, Empowers Youths With N15M, Says White Collar Jobs No Longer Feasible

 

The Lead Pastor of Victory Life Bible Church International, Apostle Lawrence Achudume, has cautioned the youths against much reliance in seeking for the white-collar jobs in Nigeria.

According to the cleric, such move is no longer a feasible option because the traditional employment routes are not yielding the outcomes young people desire.

Achudume, who made this known while presenting N15 Million Cheque to Youth at the end of the empowerment initiative tagged "Sunday's Youth On Fire program" asked the leaders and stakeholders across Nigeria's socio-economic spectrum to acknowledge the pressing reality and need for alternative pathways for youth advancement.

He explained that the initiative is part of his commitment to supporting youth by disbursing ₦15 million in empowerment funds targeting talented young entrepreneurs across multiple sectors including catering, logistics, tailoring, fashion designing and shoe-making.

According to him, the beneficiaries were segmented into three distinct categories, stressing that youths need to be architects of change crafting jobs not just for themselves but for countless others trapped in poverty.

Achudume said the aim is to foster self-reliance among young people, adding youths must seize the initiative to build their own future.

Retreating his late wife Reverend Fola Achudume's profound passion for youth development and entrepreneurship, Apostle Achudume said the gesture was in her memory, apart from his belief that youths must be given an enabling environment to thrive.

Meanwhile, the empowerment initiative saw the first group get fully sponsored training in cutting-edge areas like graphic design, the second category receive financial, brand-new equipment like sewing machines, while the third group got financial grants ranging from ₦300,000 to ₦3 million to bolster their entrepreneurial endeavours.

Echoing Apostle Achudume's sentiments, Mr Wole Elusakin, Founder and CEO of Pomegranate Nigeria Limited, said youths represent tomorrow's trajectory, pointing out they need an ecosystem that enables them to excel.

Mr Elusakin remarked that Apostle Achudume's empowerment of about one hundred youths is an investment in Nigeria's future, adding beneficiaries will get follow-up mentorship and growth training.
