Three Shot Dead In Renewed Cult Clash In Ogun
No fewer
than four persons have been killed in a renewed cult clash in Atan-Ota area of
Ogun State.
The tragic
incident occurred between the rival cult group of Aiye and Eiye confraternity at
Atan-Ota on Monday night at about 8 p.m
In a
suspected reprisal attack, the cult members upon arrival at the Kajola area of
Atan-Ota started shooting sporadically, forcing the resident to scamper for
safety.
Source revealed
that the attack was carried out by members of the Aiye group in revenge for the
initial killing of one of their members by the members of Eiye cult group.
During the
attack, at least three persons suspected to be members of the Eiye
confraternity were shot dead.
Meanwhile,
the Ogun State Police Command is yet to issue statement on the incident while the
efforts to get a reaction from the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer,
Omolola Odutola, proved abortive, as she had yet to respond to an enquiry sent
to her as of the time of filing this report.
