Paterson Memorial Baptist Grammar School Sets For 30 Years Anniversary

 

All is set for the 30^th Anniversary of the Paterson Memorial Baptist Grammar School, Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital.

The weeklong event is to mark the achievements recorded so far as the foremost Secondary School providing quality education anchored by the fear of God, way of God, social justice, equity and equality.

Principal of the School, Dr. (Mrs), Babalola who made this known at a news conference to herald the anniversary in Abeokuta, said the activities will begin on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 with the Literary and Debating activities with cultural day at Ogun Baptist Conference Hall, Idi-Aba, Abeokuta by 10am.

Babalola listed other activities to include Inter House Sports competition at MKO Abiola stadium Kuto on Wednesday, while there will be Anniversary Lecture and Alma Mata Day with a Professor from Baptist Seminary as Guest Lecturer, theme “Contribution of the Baptist to education in Nigeria” on Thursday, October 9^th, 2025 while the Grand Finale will hold on Friday, October 10, 2025 with a Special Anniversary Thanksgiving at Ibara Baptist Church by 10am.

Speaking on the qualities of the school, the principal explained that the college have set high standard for the academics, spiritual and moral with zero tolerance examination malpractices.

“any result that comes up for Paterson is what the student has, has a is able to defend and wherever they are, they are able to stand their own because we give them quality and serve education and we train them to be able to write exams on there will not only examination spiritual and moral or bringing in spite of what to give to our students, and they are always there, wherever they are, they are always in the forefront in every area of life. So we welcome you to this place, office.

She further stated that the school which boast of over 700 students is always mindful of the economic situation in the country in fixing the tuition fees while it also has best welfare packages for the workers.

Babalola assured that the school will continue to build on the standard it has set in the past 30 years of its existence.

The Proprietor of the School who doubled as the President of Ogun State Baptist Conference, Revd (Dr), Oyewale Oyeniyi, said while the school is being owned by the Baptist denomination, its students are from various religious beliefs and backgound.

Oyeniyi, however, appealed to Ogun state government to return the mission schools to the owners, as missionaries have the capacity to run their schools effectively while it will also relieve the government of some burdens.
